OUTPUT DISPLAY HELP -- Silicon Secretary V1.1 August 20, 1990
For a description of the menu options click on the SCREEN and press
the HELP key or choose HELP from the menu.
YOUR CONTROL OVER THE DISPLAY
There are six gadgets as well as the cursor keys to help you with the
text that is displayed.
UP & DOWN ARROWS
They move the text up or down one line at a time, providing that there
is more than a window full of text.
PROPORTIONAL GADGET
This lets you move anywhere in the text by dragging it with the mouse.
'P' - (PAUSE GADGET)
This is a PAUSE button. It only works while new text is being
displayed. Click it once to pause and again to continue.
'S' - (STOP GADGET)
This allows you to abort any new text that is being displayed.
You will be asked to verify this before stopping. There is no way
to continue the displaying text after you stop it.
ESC - (ESCape key)
Does the same thing as the STOP gadget.
'PRT' - (PRINT GADGET)
This will dump the text currently in the display buffer to your
printer. The display buffer contains the text above and below the
text that may be currently be visible.
CURSOR UP & CURSOR DOWN
They move the text up or down one line at a time, providing that there
is more than a window full of text.
SHIFTED CURSOR UP & SHIFTED CURSOR DOWN
They move the text up or down one PAGE at a time, providing that there
is more than a window full of text. Actually it's a page minus one
line.
CURSOR LEFT & CURSOR RIGHT
They move the text left or right one character at a time. This allows
you to see the entire 80 columns of text. Any other (up, down, etc.)
action with the text will remain offset until you re-align, close the
display window or display different text. This does not affect
any printouts, only what you see in the window. You may offset the
text up to 5 characters to see the 80th column.
SHIFTED CURSOR LEFT & SHIFTED CURSOR RIGHT
They move the text left or right 5 characters at a time, otherwise
it's the same as unshifted.
